Water fun and sunshine

One of the great aspects to where we live at the moment is most definitely the outdoor space we now have for the boys. Any garden space would have been nice (after a balcony) but we really have got more space than we ever could have hoped for and will probably ever have again. We need to make sure we make the most of it and fully intend to spend a lot of time outdoors this summer.

The boys are now six and three so can really enjoy running wild in the garden and I don’t have to worry too much about their safety, as I would when they were babies. Our little lady will be a different story I am sure…

A little while ago we were able to put the space and sunshine to good use with a water ramp and slide we’ve actually had since last summer. It wasn’t really that warm as you can tell with some of their expressions when hitting the icy cold water. However, water fun and sunshine always mix and kids have so much energy being on the move that they don’t feel the cold like we might do.

Now that the summer holidays are creeping up nearer, I hope we get to have lots of opportunities to get out the ramp which is now accompanied by a paddling pool and free standing slide.  Should we have a hot summer then I think I might be the one taking over the paddling pool with my massive bump and swollen legs!

My husband had a lot of fun photographing them having a great time and it’s always lovely to capture their excitement on camera. They went from running wild in the water to shivering in their towels and then wanting to do it all again.

We’re off to Center Parcs next month and I can’t wait to see their faces when they see all of the water slides and rapids. My husband will certainly have his hands full keeping these monkeys under control. Sadly they’ll be no rapids for me this time but at least I get to watch all of the fun from the sidelines.
