Family Travel: Cornbury Festival 2017

We recently attended our very first festival as a family and we were both apprehensive and excited about our little trip.

It’s been many years since I have been to a festival and when I did it was pre-kids and even pre-husband! So experiencing a festival with the children in tow, was something completely new.

For Cornbury Festival it involved us travelling back down near to our old neck of the woods, Oxfordshire. Situated in such a lovely site nestled in the glorious Cotswolds countryside.

After getting ourselves as prepared as possible, we were really looking forward to our weekend away and fully intended on embracing all that the festival had to offer for families.

It turned out to be a scorcher of a weekend which really was such a blessing. Showers were forecast but we were lucky that the rain clouds stayed away meaning that the ground was completely dry. We went prepared with raincoats and wellies but we were rather relieved to not have to use them in the end!

We really made the most of our short stay there and are certainly intrigued about other festivals going on around the country, now that we’ve dipped our toes into festival life again. I didn’t realise that there were so many.

On this occasion we didn’t camp but I’m thinking that we really should at some point to fully embrace the festival spirit don’t you think? I’m not generally a happy camper but I know tents have come a long way since the last time that I slept in one…

We were invited by Dorset Cereals to attend the festival and you can see exactly what we thought about it over on the amazing Mini Travellers site.

Nb. With special thanks to Mini Travellers and Dorset Cereals for our weekend festival passes.
