As mentioned in an earlier blog post, I have a baby wishlist. Of course we all have wishlists for our new arrivals but seeing as we are having a pink one this time, it’s a little bit different…
In my opinion there are simply some items that have to be brand new for each baby and having their own baby blanket is something I consider to be nice. I’ve always had ones in mind to get and have been casually looking around for one that fits the bill for a while now but have been in no particular hurry to get one yet.
So when My 1st Years asked me if I would like to try out one of their blankets, I was intrigued to see what they had on offer as I’ve worked with this lovely company before. I initially wasn’t expecting to find such a large choice on their website and I instantly knew that this pink knitted striped blanket was just what I wanted for our baby girl.
I love the colour combination which really reminds me of neapolitan ice cream! It’s clearly ‘girly’ with the pink stripes but it’s more understated with the mink and cream. It is a lovely quality knit and extremely soft to touch, which is what you want with your newborn. We decided to have it personalised with the name we have chosen for our baby but for the purpose of my blog and not revealing my children’s names, (especially before they’re born) I have hidden it from view.
When the blanket arrived in the post it came beautifully packaged in a box with a bow and was wrapped up in tissue paper inside. The presentation is really lovely for such special items and makes such a great first impression. When receiving as a gift it just has that added extra special touch. It definitely comes across as a present that has been really thought about for the recipient.
I love that this blanket (although not handmade) has been made for our baby daughter with her name. It’s not necessary to add a name if you don’t wish to but I like the fact it has her name on it as a keepsake for the future.
