A shoot by the riverside

Last week we took a trip out to one of our favourite spots by the river. Even though it was a dismal day, it was nice to be able to enjoy the surroundings without it being full of people going for walks like it is at the weekends.

So armed with the baby carrier and our boys safely at school, we took an impromptu drive to the riverside, just the three of us. We were only out for an hour but it’s surprising what you can achieve in that time and apart from the dressing up antics being a bit comical, this posing malarky can be quite fun I suppose.

After finding a bush to squeeze behind and successfully clambering into clothes without falling in the mud, (no mean feat for me) we managed to take some rather serene looking photos.

I do love wearing dresses but often find that two pieces can work so much better than one and can be much more versatile.

This outfit is from H&M. I’ve had my eye on getting a pleated skirt for a while now, but have never found one that I’ve felt comfortable in or felt suited me. This is classic cream and I teamed it with a black ribbed tank vest and my trusty Nine West heels. I love the ballerina length and although it’s not something for everyday wear, it’s definitely a staple for my wardrobe. Afternoon tea maybe?

I love oversized tees and you can’t go wrong with this white top from Pretty Little Thing.  My jeans are from Boohoo and are my new favourite, they’re just so soft!. The black glittery skater shoes are from F&F (from a couple of years ago) and I think that I might need to get myself a new sparkly pair soon…

I’ve had a bit of a love hate relationship with bardot style tops. I always lust after them but I feel that they’re kind of unpractical. They look great but I find them hard to actually keep off your shoulders! I made an exception with this top though as I loved the stripes and the 3/4 length sleeves with pretty ties. It’s also a great length and I think the cut is very flattering.

Shirt ~ New Look – £24.99 | Jeans ~ Boohoo – £15 | Brown boots ~ Office – £95 (last season).

I’ll be back soon with another location once we’ve found one and some more autumnal pieces 🙂
