When there are so many toys out there to choose from, I always love to go back to basics when it comes to kids role play. At the moment, Georgie is all about her play kitchen and play food. She’s at her happiest when she’s rustling up some culinary delight for us to try and she’s always keen to help me in the kitchen.
This is where Hape have a wonderful selection of traditional wooden classics that are sustainably sourced. They’re also beautifully crafted with water based paints from the highest quality natural materials.
Their Kitchen and Food range is perfect for children aged 1-3 years plus and are designed to help your child use their imagination alongside their love of food and cooking.
We were kindly sent some items for Georgie to try and one set we received was the Garden Vegetables set which comprises of a carrot, sweetcorn, leek, pepper, onion and tomato.
Each item comes in two pieces (apart from the sweetcorn) that are attached with some velcro for your little one to chop open with the little wooden knife that’s included.
When sliced open you can see that the centres look as they should do.
We also received the Fresh Fruit set which comes with an orange, pear, lemon, kiwi, banana and an apple.
They are fantastic for hand eye coordination and they tick all the boxes for helping your child with their counting and being able to identify the different varieties and colours. They’re all so lovely and bright too, as well as looking so much nicer than plastic play food.
Next up is the My First Waffle Maker which caused much excitement and Georgie just loves getting this out. It’s so well made and comes with all of the essentials for waffle making.
Georgie has a barbeque game with some tongs and her favourite part of the game is picking up the pieces of food to place on the grill, so she was always going to love this set.
We’ve had such fun playing with the sets and she asks to get them out everyday without fail. The hardest part has been keeping all of the pieces in one place!
Nb. We were sent these Hape sets for the purpose of this review, but all views and opinions remain our own.
