The Christmas Forest – delivered to your door

A few days ago we received our wonderful 6 foot Nordmann Fir Christmas tree, which was delivered straight to our door from The Christmas Forest.  I’m a massive fan of online shopping and the fact that you can order a tree like you would a piece of furniture, makes perfect sense to me.

Our experience with The Christmas Forest

We were lucky enough to have tried their new delivery service last year and knew without a doubt that we wanted the ease of having one delivered again! The Nordmann Fir have lovely soft pine needles and are very full bodied trees.

To give you some background information, The Christmas Forest was founded in 1998 in Richmond and they now have ten stores alongside their online service.  All of their trees come from sustainable Christmas tree farms where every tree cut is replaced by a new one.

They also have a partnership with Tree Aid, meaning that every tree that is bought by their customers, results in a tree being planted in Africa – which in turn is helping to provide much needed work to some of the poorest communities.

Christmas Forest

We’ve been getting real trees for a few years now and I would say that it’s only been this year that we’ve really worked out the best way to care for a real tree.

These trees come freshly cut but it’s always best to cut off around an inch from the base when you receive it, then pop it straight in the water. We’ve always done this is the past but have found that our trees just stopped taking in the water, especially when you forget to top up the water and the stump seals over. This time our tree has been drinking a fair amount, at least 2 pints a day, so we must be doing something right…Plus I can notice the pine smell this time which is wonderful.

I always used to think that it was best to select your own tree from a farm, but actually both of our trees have been beautiful evenly shaped trees that I couldn’t have picked better myself. Although picking out a Christmas tree is a lovely part of the run up to Christmas, I do find it quite stressful taking three children to look and then after all that, there isn’t room in the car for everyone and the tree anyway!

Let’s face it, there is enough to organise for the festive season, so to have something as important as your tree delivered on a nominated day, takes some of the pressure off and you also don’t have to wrestle other people for the best looking trees. If you’re looking for one less worry this Christmas, then it’s certainly worth looking into getting your tree delivered to your door and from our experience we couldn’t have wished for better looking trees on both occasions. No more umming and ahhing over which tree is too bottom heavy and which tree is too sparse at the top…Let The Christmas Forest do all of the hard work for you.
