Whether you’ve got a wedding this year or you’re heading to a festival, knowing what to wear can be a huge chore – believe me!
But over the years, I’ve found that there are a few summer wardrobe essentials that’ll have you oozing style without much effort.
Here they are:
White T-Shirt
OK, so we’re starting the list off with one of the most unimaginative pieces of clothing you can find – but the white t-shirt is at the top for a reason. It’s ridiculously versatile. It fits with almost everything and looks fabulous, whether you’re wearing jeans, a patterned skirt, smart black trousers or a strappy maxi dress. You literally cannot go wrong with this wardrobe essential.
Two-Strap Sandals
Sweaty feet are not a good look and flip-flops don’t always achieve that chic look you’re going for, which is why I find a trusty pair of two-strap sandals a must-have. Not only do they stop your feet from getting too hot but they also help elongate your legs, especially when you opt for the heeled variety.
Boyfriend Jeans
Skinny jeans are my best friend in winter but boyfriend jeans are far more practical in summer. Giving you a much more relaxed feel, they’re comfy, casual and cool – ideal for warm summer days. Opt for lighter shades to achieve the summer look.
Perfume
Nothing completes an outfit better than perfume, especially if it enhances the overall look and feel. So with cool perfumers like Miller Harris offering unique, vibrant fragrances, now’s the time to add a squirt or two of this to your summer wardrobe so you radiate summer vibes.
Shirt Dress
Ideal for evening drinks, work or brunch with friends, a shirt dress is a great outfit for many occasions. Thanks to its simple yet altogether chic style, it’ll keep you looking elegant while making sure you feel cool.
White Trainers
If you’re heading out for the day or you’re going to be doing a lot of walking, white trainers will keep your feet feeling and looking fresh. Team them with jeans, casual trousers or denim shorts for lazy weekends or busy summer days.
Denim Shorts
Last but by no means least is a pair of denim shorts. I mean, who can get through summer without them? When you feel as though you’ve built up enough of a tan (or have faked tanned to perfection), they’re great for showing off your legs. Partner with that white T-shirt and trainers for a cute look or go for something a little dressier with boots and a strappy top.
With all of the above packed into your wardrobe, you’ll certainly up your style game this summer.
