Adding fresh prints to our lounge with Desenio

The lounge has always been my favourite place in our home, but I must admit that I’ve been spending less time in these days. I’m often busy in the kitchen, where I also have my desk and around the house in general. I’ve even been sitting on the sofa less and less, so in turn the room has become the kids room for the most part.

Now that it’s getting colder, I’m drawn again to hiberate in my rather neglected but favourite room in the house and I felt that it needed a little something extra to liven up the walls.

Desenio very kindly sent some prints to do just that. If you’ve never looked on their site before, then you might be surprised to see so much choice. There are hundreds of designs and even better, so many inspiration boards to choose from. I could’ve easily spent hours looking and it took me a while to to find ones that fitted well together.

I ended up choosing a couple of very different prints as my favourites. One I decided would hang alone on a wall and the other would work better with other prints as a gallery wall.

This one was one of my favourites that went against my original theme. I was drawn to this one with it’s Scandinavian design and I love it’s simplicity and constrasting colours and gold.

I quite like the idea of mixing and matching themes and I think there is no hard fast rule as to what you put together. Afterall it’s all about personal tastes and what works for you.

When I was browsing on Desenio, this pastel pink palm had me won over straight away. I knew that no matter what, I had to choose this one and then everything else would be picked to compliment it.

I love the nod towards summer and the tropical theme. Golden pineapples are just as good in print as they are in ornamental form and I knew that these pineapples would go very well!

In the end I opted for a quote to go alongside the other prints and chose something simple but meaningful. I’d like to get a few more in the future and slowly grow this gallery wall in the lounge. I have another large wall crying out for some posters, so I know it won’t be too long until I think up another theme for that space.
