Styling Co Ords with Femme Luxe

When it comes to styling your outfits for the spring, it’s all about Co Ord Sets for me as it means I can mix and match pieces according to what the weather might be doing.  It might be May at the moment but I’m certainly not wearing what I have been able to in the past years, so while the summer dresses are still on standby waiting for spring to make an appearance, it’s time to incorporate some more summery items in with my current winter wear.  With Co Ord pieces, so many items can be carried forward through the seasons, meaning that you end up getting much more wear out of your clothes than you would be if the pieces can’t be put together for an outfit. You will always have more outfit combinations when dressing with them too and if you have a favourite pattern that you don’t always want to be seen wearing, then you can mix it up by wearing the top one day and the bottoms another day – then it’s not overkill.

These Jade Green trousers are part of some of the Co Ord Sets that I already have and they’re actually now a staple part of my wardrobe. They look equally as good teamed with the crop top that they came with as they do paired with something else entirely.

Black goes with everything and I love the contrast with the jade green here. This Milkmaid Top is really versatile and can be worn with trousers, skirts and even jeans, depending on what kind of look you’re aiming for. The balloon sleeves give the top more interest and the chiffon sheer fabric makes it look really dressy. If you like to show off your midriff, then this top is really pretty and will make any outfit look glam.

I’ve learnt over the years to not be afraid to try new types of clothes that might come in a cut that I’m not used to. in fact I’ve never been one to reach for Body Con Midi Dresses, always assuming that they are not right for my figure, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how this dress fits. You may think that they’ll hug you in all the wrong places, but actually depending on the style, they can actually work in your favour and be flattering. It only to prove that you should never exclude some styles from your wardrobe, without at least trying them first.

The ruched design of the dress makes for a much more streamlined look and for someone that has always been conscious of her bum, this style really works for me.  The dress is by no means tight and the fabric drapes more around the tummy area and isn’t skin tight like I assumed it would be, so it’s a fit that complements an area that lots of women are more prone to be self conscious about. This deep red dress looks complete when styled with some strappy heels or boots, for a summer look that will take you through to the winter months.

It goes without saying that there is of course always a time for putting on easy to wear clothes such as this Grey Loungewear set. It’s exactly the same as the navy set that I wore in my previous post about Loungewear with Femme Luxe. I mentioned before that it’s lightweight and easy to wash, and you’ll find that it’s almost dry when it comes out of the washing machine. As this weather at the moment is so unpredictable, it’s a handy choice to wear in this in between weather when it’s raining one moment and sunny the next, with all sorts of up and down temperatures thrown in too! I’m all about wearing clothes that are not too bulky, as I simply get too hot when I’m at home and anything that is too warm will usually get taken off anyway. Fleecy clothes never work well for me, so soft lightly knitted pieces make much more sense to me and you can’t get too hot in this set at all.
