Nature Misses You

Have you been making the most of getting outdoors this summer? I know that the best weather has passed us by now but it doesn’t mean that pursuits outside should be reined in. In fact, the autumn is a wonderful time for exploring and seeing what nature has in store. It might be a bit more nippy but there is nothing better than getting out in the fresh air and enjoying the simple things in life.

Research has shown us that from generation to generation we’re spending less time outdoors. The National trust want to let us know that nature misses us and to encourage families to get outdoors and enjoy what is all around.

You may have heard about ’50 things to do before you’re 11¾‘ and you can get more information and ideas here and you can even download apps for your smartphone, iOS and Android.  Each of the activities are fun, creative and of course, outdoors.

This proves that there is no need to be bored, even on those days where you just can’t be bothered. It needn’t cost the earth or anything at all, as the saying goes ‘the best things in life are free’. All it needs is a kick up the bum and a bit of enthusiasm and you can inspire your children and create memories for them to treasure. We’re going to pick some activities from the 50 stated and get out and start exploring. We’re up for it, are you?
