A classic tan bag – The Pacapod Mirano Tote

I’ve always known of Pacapod and heard great things about their bags, but until now I have never owned one myself.

I’ve tried a few changing bags now with having three children and ironically I had more girly styled bags when I just had the boys. What I’ve never really had though, is a classic style. Give me a tan coloured bag anyday as that’s my go to colour that goes with everything.

This Mirano tote from Pacapod is exactly the shade and style I look for in a bag and this one is extremely generous in size. When you have kids it’s almost futile to try and go much smaller especially if you’re out for the whole day.  There have been many times that I have attempted to go out with an overstuffed bag to avoid the lugging factor but it just makes life easier to opt for a bigger one to start with.  I get to take my normal sized handbag on exciting outings to work or the few occasions a year that I might go out without a child!

One key feature for me is being able to strap changing bags onto a buggy, rather than just slinging the strap over the back.  I was able to do this with my last bag and it made life much easier and stopped the bag swinging too low. The straps with the Pacapod though, grip the handle bar really well and enable you to have the bag fairly high up the back of the buggy. If they sit too low, then you often spend far too much time rummaging around for what you need as you can’t see into the bag properly.

Which brings me to my next point…accessibility. The pods are simply brilliant. In my opinion they are brilliant alone for being able to grab snacks pronto for whingey children. Obviously it’s equally easily to grab milk bottles in a hurry for newborns but having snacks all in one place, is crucial for outings with three continually hungry children.

So while one pod can be used for feeding, the other can be used for changing bits and pieces. Then you still have room in the main compartment of the bag for other items. I easily fitted in my purse, sunglasses and a bottle of water and had plenty of room for more items.

The pods can also be removed and used outside of the bag or even hanging off the back of the buggy. Without the pods then you really have a lot of room inside the bag. Perfect for using as an overnight bag.

What’s great about this design is that the side without the pods on, really does look like a regular tote bag and even the pod side looks like a compartment that can be zipped down for a laptop etc.

It’s made of a mix of fabrics with soft vegan leather detailing. It’s easily wipeable and so far is proving to be very wearable.

It shows the versatility of this bag and it that it goes beyond just being used as a changing bag and even though is has designed for that function, you don’t have to compromise on style.

See the bag in action on a recent family trip out…
