Undley Farm Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze

For a couple of years now, I’ve been meaning to take my kids to a pumpkin patch ahead of the Halloween celebrations. I searched and searched last year and all that was local to us in Buckinghamshire, were some barns piled up with pumpkins to buy but none involved visiting an actual patch.

Luckily for us, pumpkin farms are not in short supply in our new neck of the woods in Norfolk and the surrounding areas.  We had a few to choose from but in the end we decided to visit Undley Farm Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze in Suffolk after it was strongly recommended to us by Lauren from Dilan and Me. It took us about 40 minutes to drive there but from what we had already seen online, we knew that we wouldn’t be disappointed with travelling a little further afield if it meant we would see pumpkins galore.

This patch really is a day out in itself and the with it being a beautiful day, a lot of people had the same idea as us! The farm is huge and although it was busy, there was plenty of land to accommodate everyone.

A particular highlight for Georgie was wading through the pumpkins trying to find the ones that were all squishy.

As always on our day trips out, we have the perspective from the GoPro too.

So many pumpkins far and wide!

It is of course, not complete without a pumpkin selfie too…

How clever are these carvings? I was awe of the skill involved to make these and it definitely makes me want to up my game!

As well as the fields filled with pumpkins there is an amazing Maize Maze to explore, which we didn’t on this occasion but would like to try out next time. If you’re looking for entertainment for the kids then you definitely have found the right place. They have giant inflatables, a bale climbing area, refreshments as well as craft stalls, face painting and donkey rides. There is a free craft corner too that includes lots of glittery, sparkly craft supplies, paints and colours.

As Tobias is still not able to do contact sports after breaking his arm, we thought that bouncing around would probably not be the brightest idea and because of this, we didn’t feel it would be fair for Elliot to go on without him. So they compromised with a donkey ride.

Visiting a patch is now going to be one of those yearly traditions for us now and I can’t wait to discover other patches around the area and ones that are a little more local to us.

It is of course the ideal opportunity to pick out your pumpkins for Halloween but it’s also great for getting some candid shots of your family. My three were more than happy just roaming about in the fields, spotting pumpkins of all different shapes and sizes.

A perfect day out for getting you in the Halloween spirit, even if it was uncharacteristically warm on the day that we went!
